Former Cowboy, Stockman Sam Adcock Dies at 78

WILLCOX -- Sam H. Adcock, 78, a former cowboy and stockman, died Saturday in the Northern Cochise District Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Westlawn Chapel here and burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Safford.

Mr. Adcock was also a maintenance foreman for the Arizona Highway Department here for 30 years. He retired in 1961.

Born in Moore, Tex., he came to Willcox from Big Spring, Tex., in 1912. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Sally Owens, of Safford; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Price, of Tucson and Mrs. Mattie Stephenson, of Willcox; a brother, Eddie, of Utopia, Tex., and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Westlawn Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday.
