Funeral Yesterday For Carrie Duggan, Girard Resident

Mrs. Sarah Carrie Duggan, 83, lifelong resident of Girard, died at 12:45 a. m. Monday at St. John's hospital, Springfield. She had been in ill health for three years and had been at the Miller nursing home in Virden for the past year. She had been in the hospital since suffering a heart attack January 5.

Born April 13, 1873, the daughter of Beverly and Louisa Eads Adcock, she had resided in Girard all of her life with the exception of a brief residence in Springfield. Her birthplace was North Otter township.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Goodpasture, Addison; Mrs. Ruby Goetz, Farmington; Mrs. Fay Shores, Springfield; two sons, Elmer, Warren Village, Mich.; Carroll, Springfield; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one stepson, Bernard, Girard; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Vaughn, Girard, and Mrs. Clara Andrews, Brookfield, Missouri.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1 p. m. at the Berry funeral home, Girard, Rev. Charles Eastin, assisted by Rev. Wesley Pierce officiated. Burial was in Girard cemetery.

Pallbearers were Arlie Crawford, Harry Starks, Don Duggan, Dewey Edwards, Robert Goodpasture and Wayne Goodpasture.

Funeral services were held yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon at Berry funeral home, Girard, the Rev. Charles Eastin assisted by the Rev. Wesley Pierce, officiating. Interment was in Girard cemetery.
