OBITUARY

Hester Ann Coverdale [sic], the subject of this sketch was born at Milford, Delaware, July 2, 1831. With her parents came to Illinois when four years of age and spent most all her life in this community. She was married to Edmund Adcock in 1848, to this union were born fourteen children nine of who with the father preceded her in death. Those living are, Mesdames J. M. Crawford, Thos. Davidson, M. M. Jennings, Messrs Israel and F. E. Adcock.

She departed this life Tuesday Sept. 16 at seven-thirty p. m. at the home of her daughter Mrs. M. M. Jennings in Bird Township. Aged 82 years, 2 months and 14 days. She professed a hope in Christ a good many years ago and identified herself with Otter Creek Baptist Church and at time of her death was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Funeral services were conducted from Union Chapel church Thursday at eleven a. m. Rev. A. M. Stamper officiating and interment by the side of her husband in the old part of the cemetery. A large crowd attended the funeral service.
