Hold Rites Friday for Native of Macoupin

Funeral services for Jacob R. Gugger of Bunker Hill, who was born near Macoupin Station, were conducted Friday afternoon at Jacoby funeral home, Bunker Hill.

Mr. Gugger passed away last Wednesday morning at 6:10 o'clock at Macoupin hospital. He was the son of Joseph [sic] and Ann Gugger and was born near Macoupin Station in Polk township August 23, 1879.

Mr. Gugger is survived by his wife, formerly Ann Rhoads [sic]; three sons, Nelson of Hamilton, O., Paul of Pontiac, Mich., and George of Bunker Hill; three daughters, Mrs. Laura Schultz of Bloomington; Mrs. Phillip Adcock and Mrs. Walter Fogle [sic], both of Bunker Hill; also one sister-in-law, Mrs. Eunice Gugger of Carlinville; nieces and nephews.

He had lived his entire life near Bunker Hill and served in the Spanish-American war.
