Mrs. Lucinda Walk, Aged 81, Is Buried At Union Chapel
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at Union Chapel church, west of Girard, for Mrs. Lucinda Walk, 81, longtime resident of the Duncan community, who died at 3:50 a. m. Monday at her residence southeast of Palmyra. Elder W. I. Dobbs officiated and burial was in Union Chapel cemetery. Mrs. Walk had been ill for some time.
Mrs. Walk was born May 11, 1869, in North Otter township, the daughter of James M. and Hannah Nash Hays. She was a member of the Concord Primitive Baptist church.
Mrs. Walk is survived by her husband, David H.; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Duncan, Girard; Mrs. Iva Holloway and Mrs. Ethel Holliday, both of Palmyra, and Mrs. Lorenia Anderson, of Virden; three sons, Dennis, Girard, and Wilburn and Edgar, both of Palmyra; 14 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Millie Adcock, Nilwood; Mrs. Millie [sic] Crump, Fairview, Oklahoma; three brothers, Marshall, Ely and John, all of Girard.
