Eloise Barnes, 73, of Girard died at 3:47 a.m. Sunday, August 27, 2000, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born August 13, 1927, in Atwater, a daughter of Oliver and Elsie Mae Baker Swift.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 29, at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery.
Surviving are six stepdaughters, Cahloia Barnes of Springfield, Mrs. Loren (Gale) Ross and Mrs. Dennis (Shawn) Janssen, both of Gillespie, Billie Jo Butcher of Circleville, Ohio, Mrs. Nathan (Michelle) Kuntzman of Virden and Jody Hotarek of Colorado; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, George Swift of Girard and Oliver Charles Swift Jr. of Murphysboro, Tennessee; a sister, Laura Prickett of Girard; and several nieces and nephews.
