Hold Rites for Mark Yowell Here Tuesday

Lifetime Resident Dies Sunday Morn at Farm Home Near Carlinville

Funeral services for Mark Yowell, 76, who passed away at his farm home south of Carlinville Sunday morning at 11:15, were conducted at Wiese funeral home Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. W. W. Swift, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal church, officiated and interment was in Union Chapel cemetery, west of Girard.

Serving as pallbearers were William Yowell, Jacob Yowell, Arthur Young, Edward Pursey, Harold Hurry and Harold Reiher.

Mr. Yowell, who spent his entire life in this community, was born Sept. 18, 1878 in Polk township, a son of William and Sarah Price Yowell. On Oct. 5, 1921 he married Lillie Pursey. To this union were born two children, a daughter, Frances, and a son, Mark Pursey Yowell.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter, both at home; two brothers, William of this city and Jacob of Polk township; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Belle Young and Miss Mary Yowell, both of Polk township; and a number of nieces and nephews.
